And, we’re back again! Now that we’ve been in the market for a couple weeks, have had a nice surge of downloads and feedback from you, fellow pirates, as well as some great reviews (We are diligently reading your comments, emails and feedback and in fact, have already started integrating some of the critiques to create a better gameplay experience!) The Boom Boom team is also really excited to announce that we are officially beginning to develop Story Mode! We are intent on pushing towards being one of the best mobile pirate games you have ever played, so we are continuing to develop new features and experiences.
While it’s in its first phase development, our main goal is to give you a closer look at the daily inner lives of Pirate and Crow, including how they came to be partners, and explore the extravagant misadventures they go on to find treasure, as well as introduce you to the world of characters to be found. Some of the free mobile pirate games out there offer villains or “bosses” that come, battle and are killed but we aim to create “seasons” of stories that will each be released as expanded downloads. Each season follows one particular storyline and adventure and we’ll get a better look at characters, villains, and allies involved, all while seeing it through the eyes of Pirate and his Captain’s Log Journal. Reading and hearing Pirate’s actual words is a great way to really get to know Pirate’s unique view of the world. We also happen to think that this style of storytelling, while on the go, on your mobile device, will be a really unique and fun way to experience their world and their story – hopefully making it a really unique experience for ios and other pirate games android!
The fun trick we are going to implement is that the story being told will help drive the gameplay experiences, similar to how cinematics works in other fun pirate games; however here, the contents of the story preceding the gameplay may actually dictate the gameplay mechanisms involved. For example, let’s say Pirate and Crow have just discovered a band of thieves trying to hightail it out the area with all of their treasure – well normal gameplay would indicate ships are coming at you, attacking you, but in this version of gameplay they are actively trying to escape you and get away, so not only are they moving away from you but they may be avoiding your blasts, perhaps they even leave debris in the sea that could pose a threat for you! Another exciting, and more advanced iteration that you may see in future seasons, is that we open up the axis of horizon travel, meaning you may begin seeing aerial enemies flying in to bomb you, or perhaps even underwater enemies that submerge and resurface or we may do a full 360 underwater design where enemies are coming from all directions! These added levels of gameplay elements will not only service the story but also add new layers to gameplay helping Pirate’s Boom Boom, as a new pirate games ios, really catch your eye!
