Welcome back for this week’s posting, as always we have some very interesting and insightful history about Pirate’s Boom Boom and what games inspired the franchise to have a specific look, feel and design and make it one of the best pirate games ios.
One of the most important games that has inspired Pirate’s Boom Boom is World of Warcraft. Over the years of playing specific classes through multiple expansions, I was able to observe some very interesting ideas and experiments at play, which designers used to modify and explore classes. The different philosophies of getting iconic talents and abilities to work together and create a challenging and rewarding experience was a very difficult task to accomplish. And as new expansions came in, certain classes would get very drastic makeovers that changed the way the class was approached. This gave me an insight into what makes healing, dealing damage or tanking fun, considering those are three different roles with specific characteristics. I think pirate games 2023 need to have all of those characteristics that I mentioned.
Essentially I felt that when playing an aggressive damage dealer such as a Death Knight or a Warrior in combination with a healer created for an intense and fun situation, where good decision making really rewarded the user with a fun experience. It also pushed the player to be as effective as possible, by simply being aggressive and accurate with shots and makes it one of the most fun pirate games.
Another game that has influenced the look and feel of the world is Socom. Socom 1 and 2 were PS2 games that really changed the way 3rd person shooters feel. I think Socom had a really great system of depth with different weapons, such as sniper scopes that gave you different zoom distances and the way you had to integrate that into your playstyle. This gameplay dynamic always made you aware of the whole map and key areas on the map that had a certain visibility or strategic advantages. And since the opponent could also utilize those spots at any point, a game of cat and mouse would often take place and create an exhilarating experience.
This influenced Pirate’s Boom Boom to compress space as well as curve it. We wanted to bring the up-close action and far-away action together into a single dynamic range, where shooting things up close and far away rewarded you without having a different type of weapon, just the cannon. And as you progress further in the game, you can acquire “The Heinz” cannon ball which is able to fire through the enemies and be able to destroy ships at different distances with a single shot. This introduces a new, more advanced dynamic process into your strategy and decision making process and overall fun.The third and the last game that has influenced me is a game called Armored Core, it was a PS1 video game that was also a 3rd person shooter, but with the ability to do some very interesting maneuvers. The main aspect that was very interesting to me is how items and story and an economy system were integrated all into very fun and exciting missions that tied into the overall story. I hope those inspirational games have created one of the best pirate video games.
